Job Summary
Langan is seeking a Project Land Surveyor/Manager to join its collaborative team in Dallas, TX
. This role combines technical knowledge, practical experience, and professional judgment to resolve surveying, mapping, and geospatial challenges. You will have the opportunity to assist in leading the Survey team with a shared passion for merging the art of science and mapping.
- Assist discipline leadership with the planning, implementation and production of deliverables for land surveying projects
- Oversee and manage staff for specific project assignments and supervise field work
- Coordinate and work with staff to prepare/modifiy field work scope, survey data, data reduction, project plans and revisions, and final survey deliverables
- Write and/or review drafting and CAD file production, draft survey maps, proposals, written descriptions, and miscellaneous reports
- Assist in planning schedules and developing tasks and project budgets; prepare progress reports and draft change orders
- Perform and manage multiple projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines; prepare draft invoices and assist in payment collections
- Use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, and aerial photographs to assess project needs and inform project approach
- Assist with office tasks including CAD drafting, data download, deed and map research, and filing
- Collect field data for surveys using surveying equipment and software as necessary
- Assist in recovery of survey control and monumentation, construction layout, obtaining invert and subsurface utility information, and project area photo documentation
- Perform other duties as requested
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 5+ years of survey experience in both the field and office
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Carlson software; strong computer skills
- State Survey license or ability to obtain license
- Experience with proposal preparation and job estimates
- Ability to perform complex boundary analysis and maintain quality control of survey deliverables
- Proven ability to manage multiple staff to meet project deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team with management, staff, co-workers, and clients
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to travel to the field when necessary
