Senior Network Engineer

Responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network and security infrastructure. This role focuses on firewall administration, network architecture, WAN connectivity, and ensuring reliable, secure campus‑wide network operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support large enterprise network and security solutions.
• Manage and maintain the organization’s network security posture across multiple projects.
• Administer and support firewalls, VPNs, and network security technologies.
• Plan, document, and implement network communications systems.
• Create network architecture documentation, diagrams, and implementation plans (MOPs).
• Evaluate hardware and software solutions and provide recommendations for current and future capacity needs.
• Test network designs for redundancy, resiliency, and performance.
• Support and maintain WAN connectivity across remote sites and clinics.
• Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and contractors to deliver network projects.
• Monitor emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and scheduled maintenance windows, including nights and weekends.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in an enterprise networking environment.
• Hands‑on experience with network hardware, software, and security appliances.

Preferred Skills & Technical Expertise

• CCNP certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP).
• Experience with network virtualization and automation (ACI, SDN, NFV).
• Scripting and automation experience (Python, Perl, Ansible, Puppet).
• Expertise in firewalls, VPNs, and internet routing.
• Advanced knowledge of network design, routing, switching, and security.
• Experience with wireless networking (802.1x), VoIP, and network access control.
• Strong understanding of IPAM, DNS, and DHCP.
• Deep knowledge of WAN technologies, including leased circuits and fiber transport.
• Experience with network management and monitoring tools (e.g., Solar Winds, Net Disco).
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Ability to develop standards, procedures, and technical recommendations.
