Overview
The Industrial Control Systems Manager is responsible for the management, technical operations, and leadership of employees within an assigned business unit. This role includes oversight of day-to-day operations, technical decision-making, project delivery, and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Accountable for the development, productivity, and direction of team members, including project assignments and workflow coordination with project managers
- Assist with department utilization and resource planning
- Ensure technical quality of work, adherence to budgets and schedules, and delivery of scope and project deliverables
- Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and communication of company initiatives and procedures
- Lead or participate in department and project meetings
- Support business development efforts as required
- Assist with cost estimating and proposal development
- PLC, HMI, DCS, and SCADA system programming and configuration
- Design, configuration, integration, and implementation of automated equipment
- Develop software and hardware design specifications
- Design, write, test, and document PLC and HMI software
- Create control narratives, logic diagrams, cause & effect diagrams, and network diagrams
- Develop and execute control system validation and testing protocols
- Troubleshoot, test, and commission control systems on site
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline, or
- 10+ years of progressive experience designing and programming PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
- Prior technical leadership experience on control systems projects preferred
- Experience with startup and commissioning of automated equipment
- Experience with industrial instrumentation (sensors, transmitters, flow meters)
- Experience with control system and PC networking technologies
- Ability to obtain a TWIC card
- Ability to partner effectively with project managers, clients, vendors, and third parties
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
