Position: Geospatial Engineer (Machine Automation Field Support)

Looking to put your geospatial expertise and field engineering skills to use in a hands-on role at the forefront of construction tech? Join Xpanner, Inc. as a Geospatial Engineer, where you’ll be the bridge between advanced satellite positioning and heavy iron. You’ll play a critical role in installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting the GPS machine control systems that power the automation revolution on pile drivers, excavators, and more.

This role is built for a technical problem-solver who loves working outdoors and thrives on the precision required for job site localizations and base/rover setups. If you enjoy training operators on cutting-edge hardware and are ready to lead the charge in site-wide system reliability, this is your chance to transform how the world builds.

Responsibilities
  • Support the installation, setup, and calibration of machine control systems on pile-driving machines, excavators, and other heavy machinery.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain GPS machine control systems to ensure precise machine positioning and guidance.
  • Set up GPS base and rover systems for accurate equipment operation, as needed.
  • Be familiar with construction staking and layout techniques, ensuring alignment with site design and specifications.
  • Perform job site localizations, calibrations, and diagnostics to maintain system accuracy and reliability.
  • Provide operator and site personnel training on GPS hardware, software, and machine guidance systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical hardware and software issues on-site to reduce downtime.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and service teams to address customer needs, provide support, and implement system upgrades.
  • Perform equipment calibration, maintenance, and diagnostics regularly to ensure optimal system reliability and performance.
  • Document all service activities, customer interactions, installations, calibrations, troubleshooting, and training procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with job site personnel, including operators, project managers, superintendents, site surveyors, and engineers, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Follow safety protocols at all times while working on job sites.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with GPS machine control solutions or surveying-related fields.
  • Proven experience installing, supporting, and calibrating GPS machine control systems on heavy machinery.
  • Knowledge of site localizations/calibrations, and diagnostic techniques at job sites.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and site collaboration.
  • Flexible and willing to travel extensively; minimum age of 21 due to travel and industry safety considerations.
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by industry standards.
Preferred Experience

Experience with the major manufacturers of surveying and machine control solutions.
