We are looking for an experienced Data Center Colo QA/QC Manager to support a critical‑facility data center construction project. The QA/QC Manager will manage the overall quality of multiple data center construction projects, focusing on installation and commissioning of key infrastructure systems in accordance with company policies and procedures. These data centers operate 24/7/365. Responsibilities include delivering quality and consistent services and support, managing issue resolution and ensuring proper performance reporting of key metrics, and establishing goals and objectives for the region aligned with the corporation’s strategic plans.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience creating and implementing multi‑facility standard‑based Operations & Maintenance programs, analyzing processes, developing operational procedures, and communicating effectively with both business and operations managers. The subject matter expert supports the development and implementation of Mission Critical O&M initiatives based on company best practices.
- Perform periodic site walk‑throughs to ensure company procedures and standards are followed, assisting the Project Manager and support staff.
- Communicate the status of the operation process with senior management.
- Accept and commission the facility to meet the superior and dynamic standards of company standards.
- Assist in developing procedures/Method of Procedures (MOPs) for the DC build and approve MOPs for data hall work.
- Provide coverage for onsite data center manager with routine and emergency service on critical systems such as medium voltage switch gear, diesel generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, fire detection/suppression, and building monitoring systems.
- Supervise the on‑site facility manager, facility technicians, sub‑contractors and vendors, ensuring all work follows established practices and procedures.
- Manage client relationships and act as an escalation point for each site.
- Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility operations and maintenance.
- Coordinate projects with business leaders to manage capacity and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability and efficiency.
- Review MOPs and SOPs for all work on critical data center facility equipment.
- Maintain readiness to support the mission goal of 99.999% uptime.
- Conduct critical facilities Operations & Maintenance (O&M) program analysis and reporting.
- Design Critical Environment Programs for internal and external clients.
- Coordinate with Design/Construction Team.
- Provide consulting on existing critical environment O&M programs.
- Assess, recommend and implement industry best practices into new and existing Critical Environment Programs.
- Provide feedback to senior management for continuous improvement of the Critical Environments program.
- Develop process documentation and training materials.
- 5–10+ years of data center facility construction and commissioning experience.
- 3–5 years of Quality Assurance / Quality Control experience.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in data center facilities; solid understanding of critical electrical and mechanical/HVAC equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; good presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field (plus).
- Superior analytical, planning and problem‑resolution skills.
- Highly organized with proven project management abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
