Role and responsibilities:
- Lead testing strategies and quality initiatives for Linux-based embedded systems in automotive applications
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for embedded software and hardware components
- Drive the adoption of automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Gtest, Pytest) to enhance testing efficiency and coverage
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware and software engineers to define testing requirements and priorities
- Conduct root cause analysis of defects and lead initiatives to improve product quality and testing processes
- Mentor junior test engineers and guide the team toward effective testing practices
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups
Job requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in development and testing embedded systems, with a focus on both hardware and software components
- Deep expertise in embedded programming languages (C, C++) and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
- Strong experience with Linux environments and Linux-based embedded systems
- Hands-on experience with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Gtest, Pytest) and automated testing methodologies
- Knowledge of hardware communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART) and hardware interfaces
- Experience with CI/CD processes and tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills, debugging capabilities, and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members
Nice to have:
- Automotive industry experience (ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 26262)
- OSCP, SANS/GIAC, CISSP, or other related security certifications
- Experience in defense, law enforcement, or manufacturing industries
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- Japanese language fluency (reading, writing, speaking)
