Position: Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer - Intermediate (Data Centers)

I and C Engineer - Intermediate (Data Centers)

Join Jacobs as an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ businesses. This role involves designing and optimizing control systems for a variety of processes, developing P&IDs, sizing valves, specifying instrumentation, and documenting and modeling design information while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards. You will also provide on‑site assistance during startup, coordinate work activities with other staff members, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver complete, world‑class solutions for new facilities.

Pay Range

$69,500.00/yr – $95,500.00/yr

Responsibilities
  • Design and optimize control systems for varied processes within multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, and document & model design information.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards.
  • Provide on‑site assistance during startup and coordinate work activities with other staff and discipline lead.
  • Help produce control system designs, develop options and optimizations for all aspects of process control, instrumentation, and automation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with Instrumentation and Control.
  • Working knowledge of DDC, PLC, DCS, and other controls applications preferred.
  • Experience working with Data Centers.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT).
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas.
  • Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Passion for buildings and construction.
