Civil Engineer - Assessment & Remediation

Mid-Level Civil or Environmental Engineer – Project Environmental Engineering Design and Project Management (Contaminated Sites)

GHD is seeking a Mid-Level Civil or Environmental Engineer to join our US Central – Contaminated Site Assessment and Remediation South Team. The role focuses on designing and managing remediation projects for contaminated sites across the US Central South Region (TX, OK, LA, CO, AR, WY, MT) and beyond.

• Support strategic pursuits for federal and private industrial clients.
• Design and implement remediation solutions (permeable reactive barriers, slurry walls, liner/cap/cover, stabilization/solidification, excavation, etc.).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide environmental advice and develop integrated technical solutions.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, specifications, and proposals.
• Manage design projects, including budgets, timelines, and deliverables, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Lead and mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
• Manage subcontractors and fieldwork to support project objectives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• PE registration (or ability to obtain registration within 6 months in a US Central South state).
• 5+ years of progressive experience in environmental remediation, risk management, and design.
• Strong technical delivery skills (design, drawings, specifications, construction support).
• Experience with federal and private projects is an asset.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing skills.
• Client advocacy and relationship management with regulators and contractors.
• Deep understanding of US environmental regulations.
