Role Overview

The Manufacturing and Quality Engineer plays a key role in driving operational excellence through the application of lean manufacturing principles, quality systems, and continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will be responsible for improving production efficiency, implementing and optimizing manufacturing equipment, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The role serves as a liaison between production and engineering teams and will lead the quality function to deliver reliable, scalable manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities Lean Manufacturing & Process Improvement
  • Lead lean initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and standard work implementation
  • Identify and reduce sources of waste and variation across production lines
  • Drive cost savings and productivity improvement projects aligned with KPIs
Quality Assurance & Control
  • Monitor and analyze manufacturing quality data (e.g., scrap, rework, defects)
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Maintain and enhance compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable quality standards
  • Conduct internal audits and support customer and regulatory audits
Production & Efficiency Optimization
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify process bottlenecks and develop solutions
  • Establish and maintain standardized work procedures and process documentation
  • Support capacity planning and throughput improvement efforts
Equipment & Machinery
  • Lead installation, commissioning, and validation of new machinery and automation systems
  • Develop and implement machine optimization strategies to reduce downtime and improve OEE
  • Coordinate with maintenance and engineering for ongoing equipment improvements
Critical Competencies for Success
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field)
  • 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably in a regulated or high‑volume setting)
  • Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and quality systems
  • Hands‑on experience with equipment installation, troubleshooting, and process validation
  • Proficiency with problem‑solving tools such as FMEA, 8D, and Root Cause Analysis
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, SPC, and statistical quality methods
