Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated Senior Environmental Scientist/Geologist/Engineer to join our Corrective Action team in our North Texas office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing remediation projects, developing business opportunities, and mentoring junior team members. The candidate will interact with a multi‑disciplinary team of Environmental Professionals and will be responsible for a variety of Environmental Remediation projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop scopes of work, proposals, budget estimates, and project strategies for various types of environmental projects.
- Manage project budgets.
- Manage and mentor junior staff.
- Author and review technical reports.
- Negotiate with regulators on behalf of clients.
- Manage subcontractor accounts.
- Manage client accounts and approve client invoices prior to delivery.
- Attend sales meetings and presentations, as necessary.
- Work with marketing team to develop new leads and sales opportunities.
- Promote the development of staff careers.
- Provide technical and marketing/sales assistance to other team members when called upon.
- Be responsible for $500,000 in annual billings and $250,000 in sales.
- Maintain an average utilization of 70%.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients and customers.
- Implement and enforce ESE’s Quality Management System.
- Ensure all team members are operating in a safe manner.
- Manage staff training and certification renewals.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices for environmental site assessments.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to support project objectives.
- Perform other project duties, as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Environmental Remediation Consulting.
- In‑depth knowledge of corrective action and remediation processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for site assessments.
- Strong project management capabilities.
- Experience with hiring and retaining a team of consultants.
