Job Title: Drilling Engineer

Job DescriptionThe Drilling Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing drilling operations for multi-well packages from conception through completion. This position requires expertise in well design, drilling procedures, and operational execution with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost management. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience managing full-cycle drilling operations for multiple wells consecutively and possess strong technical knowledge of drilling practices specific to South Texas formations.
Responsibilities- Design and plan comprehensive drilling programs for multi-well packages
- Develop detailed well plans, casing designs, mud programs, and directional plans
- Prepare AFEs and manage drilling budgets to ensure cost‑effective operations
- Select appropriate drilling equipment, tools, and technology for specific well requirements
- Oversee daily drilling operations and troubleshoot technical problems as they arise
Coordinate with vendors, service companies, and rig contractors - Monitor and analyze drilling performance to implement continuous improvements
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety standards
- Prepare detailed technical reports and end‑of‑well analyses
- Collaborate with geologists, completions engineers, and production teams
- Identify and mitigate drilling risks through proper planning and execution
- Stay current with industry best practices and new drilling technologies
- Demonstrated experience planning and executing 10+ well packages from start to finish
- Experience with South Texas drilling operations, particularly in Refugio County, is highly preferred
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and technical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field locations

Pay: $100-$120/hr (1099)
