Design Firm Director of Operations- TX

Introduction:

We are seeking driven professionals with a strong entrepreneurial mindset for our Director of Operations position! The Director of Operations is responsible for owning, executing, and interpreting policies to ensure the successful operation of the business. The Director of Operations is the leader for the business group, sets the tone and standard for core values and best practices, and drives business unit success towards goals and objectives.

The Director is a strategic role that maintains alignment and the achievement of company goals, as well as standardizes practices across the department and company. If you are looking to make a lasting impact with a great company, this could be the role for you! We are looking for individuals with civil and/or structural engineering or architectural backgrounds that have experience in Restoration and Repair Engineering, Forensic Engineering, and/or Building Enclosure experience.

We are not interested in anyone with mechanical, electrical, chemical, or geotechnical engineering experience. This is a consulting engineering firm, so the ideal candidate needs to be client-facing, not someone who is interested in sitting behind a computer.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership:
Focuses on the team to identify and implement personal development opportunities, leads, trains, and mentors team members.

• Operations:
Responsible for the successful coordination and completion of projects, reviews deliverables, provides technical assistance on proposals, engages with clients, fosters relationships.

• Strategic:
Anticipates changes regarding clients, local market, or industry, develops plans to optimize challenges, generates revenue projections.

Requirements:

Required Skills:

A Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering/Architecture-related discipline, 8 years of experience in relevant fields, 2 years of business unit leadership, PE or AIA license desired, understanding of design and construction process, ability to coach and mentor team, excellent communication skills, high level of financial acumen, commitment to quality and attention to detail.
