BIM Coordinator (Building Information Modeling)
Swisslog Healthcare is seeking a BIM Coordinator to manage and coordinate the design and construction of Pneumatic Tube Systems (PTS) using advanced 3‑D computer-aided design (CAD) software and clash‑detection tools. The role involves attending coordination meetings, negotiating with contractors, and ensuring that BIM models are fully integrated into the facility’s infrastructure while staying within budget and schedule limits.
Responsibilities- Attend coordination meetings and negotiate space requirements with trade contractors.
- Assist in the coordination of MEP trades and develop BIM program schedules.
- Review MEP proposed change‑order requests and communicate relevant budget impacts to the Project Manager.
- Maintain and nurture relationships with customers, suppliers, and employees to resolve conflicts and meet needs.
- Support pre‑construction activities such as budgets, scope review, constructability, scheduling, bid preparation, and proposal breakdowns.
- Present new projects to owners and assist in preparing project documentation.
- Conduct MEP project inspections for quality, contract compliance, and percent completion.
- Review MEP submittal data prior to design team submission.
- Use clash detection software to eliminate conflicts and prioritize Swisslog system coordination.
- Assist Project Manager with material takeoffs, RFIs, ASI handling, and schedule updates.
- Participate in on‑site walkdowns with trade contractors, design professionals, subcontractors, and Swisslog installation crews.
- Develop installation drawings from coordinated layouts and support the installation team during construction.
- Manage multiple tasks, meet assigned deadlines, and maintain the project coordination budget.
- Perform additional special assignments as required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with AutoCAD.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Navisworks or equivalent clash‑detection software.
- Strong knowledge of drawing preparation practices and procedures.
- Experience in high‑level negotiations and budgeting.
- 2–3 years of mechanical systems coordination and detailing experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Associate degree plus 3 years related experience acceptable).
- Willingness to travel up to 20% and commute to the local office at least 2 days per week.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Revit experience.
- Prior experience coordinating PTS systems in the healthcare industry.
Salary range for this position is $62,000 – $80,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skill set. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, disability coverage, and a 401(k) matching program up to 8%. This is a hybrid position (in‑office 2 days per week). Preferred location is Dallas, TX (Lewisville office). Additional office locations include Denver, CO (Westminster) and Chicago, IL (Schaumburg).
Hybrid WorkingThis hybrid role requires on‑site presence at the local office two days per week.
