Utility Coordination and Design Business Class Director

Overview

HDR is seeking a Utility Coordination and Design Business Class Director. The function of this role focuses on the technical delivery of HDR's Utility Coordination and Design products and services, acting as the technical leader for the Utility Coordination and Design Business Class with responsibility for quality assurance, resource availability and development, and project delivery. • Monthly Coordination Calls with Business Class leadership and/or Section managers, addressing ongoing development of the Utility Coordination and Design Business Class and staff workload/utilization.
• Identify upcoming projects and pursuits requiring National Business Class leadership support.
• Review utilization reports and staffing needs; collaborate with Regional Leadership/Section Managers to meet utilization goals.
• Identify participants for Project Approach and Resource (PARR) reviews and evaluations, and participate when appropriate.
• Perform project reviews or audits to validate quality practices; review technical and performance issues on projects and help develop remedial action when requested.
• Serve as the focal point for the Transportation Business Group to deliver Utility Coordination and Design services in collaboration with other Business Groups, Market Sectors, or Business Classes HDR-wide.
• Identify Technical Leadership within the business class to assist with key projects, programs, and initiatives; promote staff interaction, development, and involvement in technical programs; manage workshare and project assignments; provide direct project support on select projects.
• Participate in select marketing activities by supporting or developing project proposals, staffing assignments, identification of sub-consultants, and other duties as necessary; involvement in all phases of project development; some limited travel may be required.

• Bachelor's degree in a professional, architecture, engineering, or closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the related field.
• Maintains a professional or Engineering registration and has related technical experience.
• Experience in development and management of diverse teams; ability to work cooperatively with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business class efforts.
• Committed to quality, continuous improvement, and HDR values.
• Active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture is required.

Location and Travel
Location is non-specific; a HDR presence is preferred. Estimated travel is about 15%, with variations between 15% and 25% monthly.
