We are currently looking to recruit a materials engineer for one of our clients based in Dallas, TX. Our client is a rapidly growing business in the advanced manufacturing and sustainable technology sector. The Materials Engineer will play a key role in guiding the business through its next phase of technology development, integration, and scale.
This role will focus on front‑end manufacturing processes including strip casting, powder processing, pressing, and sintering, as well as materials characterization and pilot‑scale experimentation. Working closely with production and R&D teams, the engineer will design and execute experimental campaigns, translate data into actionable process improvements, and help scale processes from pilot to manufacturing operations. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in returning an essential manufacturing capability to the US.
Key Responsibilities- Design and conduct experiments to develop and optimize magnet materials and processes
- Develop and operate custom experimental setups and pilot‑scale manufacturing equipment
- Perform materials characterization using techniques such as SEM, XRD, magnetometry, and particle size analysis
- Analyze experimental data and translate results into actionable process and materials improvements
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to scale processes from development to production
The ideal candidate will hold a B.S. or M.S. in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. They will have experience with materials processing in metals, ceramics, or related systems, and familiarity with manufacturing processes such as casting, powder metallurgy, pressing, or sintering. Hands‑on experience with materials characterization techniques and a strong experimental mindset are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required.
Candidates with experience in magnet manufacturing, pilot‑scale process development, or troubleshooting manufacturing equipment will be viewed favorably.
