Job Description

The Simulation Engineer role at BNP Associates involves developing and analyzing simulation models for baggage handling and cargo systems using Auto Mod or Sim3D. The position requires at least two years of experience with these tools and a degree in engineering or a related field. Responsibilities include data analysis, system performance testing, project coordination, and technical reporting. Candidates must be adaptable, able to work independently or in teams, and travel for site work.

Job Responsibilities

This position requires an enthusiastic person willing to adjust to a wide variety of responsibilities working in both an office and field environment.

  • Performing analyses using advanced Excel‑based tools
  • Developing simulation models of baggage handling and cargo systems in Auto Mod and/or Sim3D
  • Confirming systems performance by designing and conducting tests
  • Preparing project status reports
  • Performing technical studies and cost estimates
  • Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Monitoring project schedule and progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Organizing and controlling project tasks
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintain BNP's professional standards and enhance the company's reputation
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience in developing models in Auto Mod and/or Sim3D (Required)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams etc.)
  • Ability to multitask on projects
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Ability to work extra time when needed to meet project deadlines
  • Prior experience working on automated material handling systems operations is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in VBA, C, C++, or other programming languages is preferred but not required
  • Working knowledge of CAD and/or Revit is preferred but not required
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
Education
  • Degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, mathematics or related field
Working Conditions
  • This is a full‑time position based in our Dallas, Texas office. The role requires occasional travel to airports within the U.S. for site‑based work. The successful candidate must pass criminal background checks and screening to obtain airport security badges.
  • Standard 40‑hour work week with occasional additional time required to meet deadlines.
  • Projects that the successful candidate will participate in will require background checks and may require drug screening.
