Design Build Design Manager
HNTB seeks an experienced engineering professional to serve as a lead technical engineer for complex design projects. The role will provide technical direction, review, and mentorship within multidisciplinary teams, support proposal development, and collaborate closely with clients and partners to ensure high‑quality design solutions.
Responsibilities- Perform independent technical reviews, make recommendations, and provide guidance on complex or unusual engineering projects.
- Provide direction to resolve technical issues and mentor production staff.
- Assist in marketing and proposal generation for complex projects within the discipline.
- Coordinate technical aspects with clients and teaming partners at the local leadership level for multidisciplinary work.
- Develop and advise on technical consistency processes and projects across disciplines.
- Ensure consistent application of industry and HNTB design standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 12 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s degree in Engineering and 11 years of relevant experience.
- PhD in Engineering and 10 years of relevant experience.
- Lead technical engineer for large, complex projects and recognized expert in the field.
- Strong background in transit signal system integration.
- Experience managing multi‑discipline design teams and overseeing diverse engineering groups.
- Local to the Dallas area or willing to relocate.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred).
