, this is your chance to apply your expertise to state‑of‑the‑art power conversion equipment ranging from 3.5 kVA up to 250 kVA. You’ll develop, test, and optimize control algorithms that directly influence performance, reliability, and efficiency of high‑tech rectifiers, converters, and inverters.
- Design, develop, and implement control algorithms and software for rectifier, converter, and inverter circuits.
- Test, troubleshoot, and verify control algorithms and software on actual power conversion hardware.
- Develop detailed specifications and requirements for control software based on electrical system characteristics.
- Document algorithm development, software processes, and laboratory testing results.
- Develop and improve validation plans for evaluating control software performance within power conversion systems.
- Integrate control software with other functions of the power conversion equipment.
- Stay current on the latest techniques, theories, and technical developments in control systems and power electronics.
- BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited; MS preferred) with 3–5 years of experience in power electronics applying control systems theory.
- Skilled in control system design, system modeling, simulation, and closed‑loop optimization.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting expertise at both control loop and system levels.
- Solid understanding of advanced power electronics topologies and PWM schemes (sinusoidal and space vector).
- Experience with nonlinear power conditioning, harmonic compensation, and power conversion systems.
- Proficient with simulation tools: MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, PSIM.
- Experience developing DSP and MCU control systems in
C. Familiarity with TI DSPs. - Understanding of communication protocols (SPI, CAN, I2C, Modbus TCP/IP).
- Familiarity with software version control tools (Git Hub, Git Lab) and standard test equipment.
- Basic knowledge of PCB design tools (Altium, PADS, EAGLE, KiCAD) is a plus.
- Excellent communicator capable of collaborating across disciplines.
- Documented U.S. Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident status.
- Position located on‑site in Dallas, Texas.
