Senior Materials Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Materials Engineer for our client, a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing company in the sustainable technology sector located in Dallas, TX. This role will play a critical part in advancing high‑performance manufacturing, supporting the organization through its next phase of technical scale‑up and integration.

The Senior Engineer will lead hands‑on experimental development efforts across front‑end processes, including strip casting, powder processing, pressing, and sintering. Working closely with production, R&D, and characterization teams, this role will design and execute experimental campaigns, translate results into scalable manufacturing improvements, and help set technical direction for future process development. This is a rare opportunity to contribute directly to restoring a strategically important manufacturing capability in the U.S.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead experimental projects, overseeing project planning, execution, and delivery of scalable new materials and processes
  • Leverage materials characterization techniques including SEM, XRD, particle size analysis, etc. to suggest actionable process improvements
  • Collaborate with production teams to scale processes from pilot to manufacturing operations
  • Mentor technicians and engineers to ensure high‑quality execution of experimental trials and data collection, providing technical guidance in metallurgical materials, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
  • Lead the generation of technical reports and SOPs, document and communicate findings, and build team knowledge of current and future magnet prototyping
The ideal candidate

Will hold a Master’s or Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or R&D process development. Strong expertise in metallurgical processing, experimental design, and materials characterization is required. Experience with powder metallurgy, or magnet manufacturing is highly preferred, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and drive results in a fast‑paced environment.

This is a high‑impact opportunity to join a mission‑driven organization offering competitive compensation, strong benefits, and long‑term career growth while working on advanced manufacturing technologies of national importance.
