COMPANY OVERVIEWHGP Intelligent Energy is an advanced energy infrastructure company pioneering the integration of repurposed naval nuclear reactor technology with next‑generation AI data center facilities. Our flagship Core Held Project, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy, aims to deploy dual A1B‑class naval pressurized water reactors at the Oak Ridge Reservation in Tennessee, delivering approximately 485 MWe of carbon‑free baseload power to support America’s growing artificial intelligence and high‑performance computing infrastructure requirements.
HGP is backed by institutional investors and operates under the DOE’s accelerated licensing framework, targeting commercial operation within 39 months—dramatically faster than conventional nuclear development timelines. We are assembling a world‑class team to execute this first‑of‑kind project and establish a scalable model for future deployments.
POSITION SUMMARYThe Director of Nuclear Technology & Engineering serves as the senior technical authority for HGP’s naval reactor repurposing program. This executive‑level position provides strategic technical leadership across all aspects of reactor systems integration, balance‑of‑plant (BOP) engineering, regulatory interface, and engineering execution. The Director will be the company’s primary subject matter expert on naval nuclear propulsion systems and will represent HGP in technical discussions with the Department of Energy, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Y‑12 National Security Complex, Naval Reactors (NAVSEA 08), and other key stakeholders.
A critical aspect of this role is overseeing the balance‑of‑plant design and integration—the infrastructure, and grid interconnection that transform reactor thermal output into usable electricity. The ideal candidate understands both the nuclear island and the conventional power conversion systems required to deliver 485 MWe to the grid.
This role is critical to HGP’s success. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of naval reactor systems with the leadership presence and communication skills required to interface at the highest levels of government and industry. The position is based in Dallas with significant travel to project sites, national laboratories, and Washington, D.C.
