Job Purpose

NOVOS Fiber is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fiber Engineer with a specialization in FTTH Design and GIS platforms. This role ensures projects maintain standardization and follow municipality guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • QA/QC of OSP engineering fiber plans created by engineering partners.
  • GIS record system updates and maintenance. Ensure shape file uploads match planned build and can be uploaded to IQGEO with minimal correction.
  • Assist with permit packages, submittals, and review all municipality guidelines to ensure faster approval.
  • Stay up‑to‑date on the latest fiber equipment and design best practices. Use AutoCAD for minor adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of Hexatronics equipment and emerging technologies.
  • Perform office tasks, including sitting for 8 hours a day and occasional travel to job sites.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school diploma and 3‑4 years of experience or an Engineering degree.
  • Experience:

    3‑4 years of fiber design and GIS platform work in an ISP environment.
  • Skills:

    AutoCAD, GIS, Microsoft Suite.
  • Knowledge:
    Past experience with ISP network design, GIS systems, and permit processes.
  • Abilities:
    Strong teamwork, excellent communication, attention to detail, willingness to seek help, and ability to sit for long periods.
  • Certifications:

    None required, but welcome.
Compensation

$75,000 - $85,000 a year
