What You’ll Do:
  • Lead the mechanical design strategy and execution for Galaxy’s Data Center program, ensuring systems meet performance, reliability, and scalability goals.
  • Drive all aspects of mechanical design and engineering deliverables — from concept through detailed design, construction documents, and specifications.
  • Partner closely with electrical, structural, IT, and operations teams to ensure a seamless, integrated facility design.
  • Provide technical leadership to external design consultants and internal engineers, ensuring adherence to Galaxy’s design standards and best practices.
  • Oversee design reviews, value engineering, and constructability assessments to balance technical performance, cost, and schedule.
  • Guide mechanical system architecture including HVAC, chilled water, cooling towers, air‑handling, and advanced thermal management for AI/HPC workloads.
  • Support the commissioning process validating system performance, ensuring as‑built accuracy, and supporting handover to operations.
  • Develop and maintain mechanical engineering standards, specifications, and quality benchmarks across all data center projects.
  • Evaluate and implement innovative cooling technologies — including modular, liquid, and immersion cooling systems — to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
  • Manage vendor relationships, draft specifications, and oversee the selection of major mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Support project planning, cost estimating, and scheduling efforts in collaboration with PMO and construction delivery teams.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to senior leadership, presenting engineering insights, risks, and recommendations.
  • Mentor and develop a high‑performing team of mechanical engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field;
    Master’s preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, ideally in data centers, mission‑critical infrastructure, or large industrial facilities.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Proven experience leading the design of complex mechanical systems — from concept through construction documentation, administration, and commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of data center cooling systems, including chilled water, air‑cooled, and advanced thermal management for AI/HPC environments.
