Position SummaryWade College seeks a collaborative, student-centered librarian to oversee campus library services and learning resources. This position manages day-to-day library operations, supports student research and information literacy, and partners with faculty and staff across departments to enhance academic success.
The Learning Resources Librarian serves as the primary contact for library services and works independently within a close-knit, small-college environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide research assistance and instructional support to students
- Deliver library orientation sessions and workshops
- Develop and maintain research guides and instructional materials
- Promote ethical and effective information use
- Collaborate with faculty to support curriculum and resource needs
- Partner with academic and administrative departments on institutional initiatives
- Oversee daily library operations, including circulation and student services
- Manage collection development, acquisitions, and maintenance
- Maintain and update library policies and procedures
- Administer the Integrated Library System (Atriuum)
- Manage electronic databases and subscriptions (e.g., EBSCO, Pro Quest)
- Troubleshoot access and authentication issues
- Maintain usage statistics and support reporting efforts
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited program (or near completion)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments
- Experience in an academic library setting
- Familiarity with integrated library systems
- Experience with electronic resource management
- Comfort with basic technology troubleshooting
- Ability to move materials weighing up to 25 pounds
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
- Located at Central Expressway and Northwest Highway in Dallas, Texas

- Build strong relationships with students, collaborate closely with faculty, and directly influence academic success.
- Academic Calendar Holidays:
Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day (Wed‑Fri), Winter Break (2 weeks in late December), MLK Jr. Day, Memorial Day, and Juneteenth.
