Alcuin School is looking for part-time staff members to join its After School Activities (ASA) program. Approximately 60 students from Primary Extended Day to 6th grade participate in after school activities Monday through Friday from 2:30 – 5:00 PM. Key responsibilities for this role include facilitating the after school holding pool, supervising students, assisting with carpool and helping with cleanup. This part‑time position is perfect for individuals who enjoy working with children and creating a safe and engaging environment.
WORKSCHEDULE
This is a part‑time position with work hours from Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM running from the end of August until the middle of May each year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Pick up Primary Extended Day children from the playground and escort them to the after school holding pool classroom.
- Ensure students arrive to their after‑school activities on time.
- Escort students to extended care (MPC/ASE) after their after‑school program, if enrolled.
- Help distribute snacks and supervise students during snack time.
- Assist with after‑school carpool, ensuring smooth pickups and student safety.
- Assist with classroom and activity space cleanup, ensuring areas are left tidy and organized.
- Observe and report any behavioral or safety concerns to the Director.
- Write incident reports as needed.
- Monitor after‑school activities, ensuring students are engaged and safe.
- Assist activity instructors as needed to support student participation and behavior management.
- Communicate professionally with students, staff, and parents.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down activity spaces as needed.
- Provide support in other areas of after‑school activities programming as assigned.
Additional duties may be assigned, as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTSRequired:
- Ability to provide documents verifying authorization to work in the U.S.
- Must pass Criminal Background Checks and Drug Testing
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience working with children in an educational, camp or recreational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized and manage time effectively.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- CPR/First Aid certified.
- Must pass a background check.
$23-24 per hour
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND WORK REQUIREMENTS- Ability to lift classroom supplies/equipment weighing up to 20 lbs
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach for extended periods of time daily
- Ability to work in outdoor environments.
