Part-Time (In School Space) Maple Lawn Elementary PK3-5TH

Title: Youth Development Professional (YDP)

Department: Programs

Reports To: PT Assistant Club Director

Exempt / Non-Exempt

The Youth Development Professional (YDP) is a part-time, hourly position working with our youth to provide “hands‑on” delivery of daily in‑house programming, including social recreation, team‑building activities, and an overall environment to build positiveberatung. Schedule is Monday – Friday; hours vary based on d­івarf. it off­school dismissal.

Primary Function

Under the supervision of the Assistant Club Director, a YDP assists with the development and operation of our after‑school program, creating a welcoming and safe environment for members, aligning new members to program areas,PID, events and opportunities, and supporting members, parents, and staff.

Key Roles
  • Building meaningful relationships with Sib members
  • Delivering specific program services within the Clubhouse
  • Compliance with organizational operational and HR policies
  • Maintaining the overall club climate—safety, security, moral compass, and guidance
  • Teaching and enforcing discipline, values, manners, citizenship, and life skills
  • Proper reporting, record‑keeping, and documentation Seller
  • Janitorial and material maintenance of equipment and furnishings
  • Assisting the Program Director in all phases of club operation
  • Administration of membership and program registration
Other Duties as Assigned by the Club Director

Build positive relationships with BGC staff, children, parents, community stakeholders, visitors, and volunteers.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver age‑appropriate programs and activities that reflect Boys & Girls Club’s five core program areas for children PK3‑5th.
  • Help ensure safe implementation of all programs and activities—checking equipment and facilities, ensuring age‑appropriateness, assessing ability, considering weather, and proper use of supplies.
  • Orients new members to program areas, special events, opportunities, safety, program and disciplinary rules.
  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate programs, services, and activities for members.
  • Ensure program area is attractive, neat, and clean with current bulletin boards and notices.
  • Assume additional tasks, assignments, and responsibilities as needed or directed.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain a positive BGC culture with high energy, strong teamwork, and effective collaboration among staff.
  • Promote daily learning‑center program participation and special events.
  • Maintain productive relationships with parents, school faculty, administrators, and other visitors.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 18+ years old.
  • Must pass a background check; must be over 18 to work with youth, over 21 to work with teens.
  • At least one year of experience working with children.
  • Combined experience and/or formal training equivalent to a minimum of 6 months, including:
    • Experience working with youth and knowledge of youth development.
    • Formal training andbọchị teaching youth while creating engaging learning experiences.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
    • Ability to de‑escalate problems and problem‑solve during day‑to‑day club activities.
    • Ability to plan and implement quality learning programs for youth.
    • Ability to control and manage a group of children through different activities.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid certifications (course available upon hiring).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with youth.
