Job FunctionEducation and Training, Primary and Secondary Education
Responsibilities- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements, providing written evidence of preparation.
- Prepare lessons to accommodate varied learning styles.
- Present subject matter per Texas Education Agency guidelines, Board of Trustee policies, and administrative regulations.
- Establish and maintain classroom behavior standards.
- Implement a system of student evaluation aligned with state law or district policy.
- Continuously monitor and record student progress, reporting to parents as required.
- Teach the course of study for the assigned subject area and grade level, as prescribed by state law or district policy.
- Plan lessons objective‑focused and provide written lesson plans for substitutes.
- Provide diverse learning experiences using varied media and methods to motivate students.
- Identify student needs and collaborate with professional staff to address health, attitude, and learning challenges.
- Be available for counseling with students and parents before and after school.
- Interpret educational programs to the community through open‑house and PTA meetings.
- Coordinate aides and other paraprofessionals or student teachers when applicable.
- Collaborate with the principal to develop evaluation systems in line with district guidelines.
- Maintain accurate student records; compile, maintain, and file all required documents.
- Perform all additional tasks and duties as assigned.
- Ensure regular and punctual attendance at the worksite.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas teacher certificate with required endorsements for subject and level.
- Demonstrated general knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Ability to follow specific instructions with limited prior experience.
- Knowledge of Texas Education Agency, Board of Trustee policies, and administrative regulations.
- Efficient classroom‑management skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
- Willingness to remain current with recent professional developments.
Moderate noise level; travel throughout the district required. Campus‑based positions necessitate regular, punctual on‑site attendance; remote or alternate arrangements are not permitted.
