Department SummaryThe Communication and Digital Media Department at UNT Dallas fosters innovation, collaboration, and real‑world skill development in media, communication, and digital production. Position OverviewThe number of vacancies is dependent on student enrollment, division needs, and dean approval. Your application cannot be considered until all required documents have been received. Adjunct faculty are limited to teaching two courses per semester. Adjunct faculty plan classes, implement and evaluate teaching/learning objectives, and assess student learning outcomes. They undertake the divisional and professional responsibilities of a part‑time faculty member, including office hours.
Minimum QualificationsA Master of Fine Arts degree, or a degree from a related field.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
The successful applicant will be expected to provide instruction in introductory Art Appreciation courses. The Art Appreciation Adjunct Instructor should have a strong foundation in art history, visual literacy, and critical analysis of art across cultures and time periods. They must be able to engage non‑art majors through accessible, inclusive instruction that fosters an understanding of artistic techniques, movements, and cultural significance.
Effective communication, classroom management, and the ability to integrate visual media and digital resources into teaching are essential. A commitment to student success and diverse perspectives in art is expected.
- Significant experience in college instruction.
- Successful experience teaching adults in a post‑secondary institution.
- Excellent communication skills in multicultural settings.
- Familiarity with online modes of delivery.

- Moving self in various positions to perform tasks in tight and confined spaces.
