The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) is part of the University of North Texas System, which also includes UNT Denton and the UNT Health Fort Worth. UNT Dallas, which is a standalone university in southern Dallas, invites applications for a full‑time Lecturer position in English, beginning Fall 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and to participate in continued development of the UNT Dallas Department of Languages, Linguistics, and Rhetoric, which offers a B.A. degree in Applied English along with minors in Rhetoric and Writing Studies and Applied Linguistics.
We are particularly interested in student‑centric, innovative, and high‑impact candidates who can help lead the development of UNT Dallas’ Applied English program through excellent teaching, program development, student recruitment, and community outreach. Specifically, we seek an experienced instructor who can teach a wide range of English courses including composition, rhetoric, literature, creative writing, and technical writing. This new faculty member will also be expected to provide service to the university in the form of committee participation and leadership while also serving the community and academic field.
UNT Dallas is looking to hire a faculty member to fill its tenure‑track Assistant Professor of English position. The faculty member should bring expertise in digital rhetoric and artificial intelligence to the classroom and department. Expectations for tenure‑track faculty at UNT Dallas include excellent teaching (4‑4 course load), research, and service. Teaching at UNT Dallas is expected to be engaging and involve high impact practices and experiential learning while preparing students for a career in the field.
Faculty are also expected to participate in such service activities as curriculum development, student recruiting, program assessment, and committee leadership. The faculty member should also be involved with organizations that serve and impact the community and build bridges between the academic and social spheres. The ideal candidate will be committed to advancing UNT Dallas’s Classroom to Career initiative—an innovative effort that bridges academic achievement and career readiness.
