This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Eligible candidates must meet all VHA policy requirements and submit an EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval allows up to $200,000 for a period of 1–5 years. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to reapply.
SummaryThe Staff Physician (Neurology) works within the Specialty Care Service at Dallas VA Medical Center, providing care in the neurology clinic, EEG lab, sleep lab, and SCI clinic.
Qualifications- United States citizenship or compliance with VA policy when citizens are unavailable.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Medical degree from a VA‑approved school.
- Current, full, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
- Completed residency in an accredited core specialty training program (ACGME or AOA) with board‑certification eligibility.

Residents currently enrolled in accredited programs who meet basic requirements may be appointed as Physician Resident Providers on an intermittent or fee‑basis. - Preferred Experience (Neurologist):
Board‑certified in Neurology with broad knowledge of multiple sclerosis, clinical neuroimmunology, and related research experience. - Preferred Experience (Movement Disorder Neurologist):
Board‑certified in Neurology with expertise in deep brain stimulation, movement disorder management, and post‑fellowship experience in Parkinson’s, essential tremor, etc. - Teaching and research experience: 5+ years clinical, supervisory, and administrative experience; mentorship of residents and fellows; VA software system proficiency.
- Provide direct patient care, including history, examination, diagnosis, and treatment of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Perform lumbar punctures and other procedural interventions as indicated.
- Consult on acute inpatient medical/surgical units and operating room suites; provide e‑consultations.
- Interpret EEG/EMG studies and perform chemodenervation procedures.
- Teach medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct clinical research and participate in scientific initiatives.
- Maintain patient records and adhere to VA documentation standards.

Not authorized. - Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment):
Authorized. - Competitive salary with annual performance bonus and regular salary increases.
