As a Principal Planner at LJA Land Development
, you will lead multi‑disciplinary programs, oversee quality control, drive business development, mentor staff, and contribute to the firm’s P&L.

• Lead large, complex programs across disciplines
• Oversee staff scheduling, QA/QC, and systems
• Drive business development and client relations
• Recruit, develop, and mentor talented planners

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Planning, Public Administration, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field
• Professional certification (AICP, ENV, PLA, AIA, CNU‑A, LEED, or equivalent) is required

• 12+ years of experience in planning and development
• High autonomy, recognized leader, and culture builder
• Directs strategies, complex negotiations, and large initiatives
• Proven business development and financial stewardship
• Process innovator and continuous learning mindset

• Leadership roles or speaking engagements within a professional organization (e.g., American Planning Association)
