Role Overview
The Marketing Manager is responsible for executing and advancing SHM’s firmwide marketing strategy, supporting business development efforts, and strengthening the firm’s brand presence. This role blends strategic execution with hands-on creative work—ranging from proposal development and graphic design to event planning and public relations.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, creative professional services environment, balances multiple priorities independently, and brings both strong aesthetic judgment and exceptional written communication skills.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
Execute firmwide marketing initiatives aligned with SHM’s brand, values, and business development goals.
Support client experience and branding efforts, including promotional items and branded collateral.
Manage and maintain the firmwide marketing calendar.
Research, write, edit, and format project descriptions, resumes, qualifications, and proposal materials.
Develop graphics, layouts, and compelling written content for proposals, presentations, and marketing collateral.
Ensure consistent quality, accuracy, and visual excellence across all deliverables.
Plan and execute company events, community engagement initiatives, and business development activities.
Coordinate public relations efforts including press releases, announcements, editorials, awards, and submissions.
Manage advertising schedules, deadlines, and direct submissions.
Order and coordinate client and stakeholder gifts.
Oversee the firm’s digital asset library, including photography, press coverage, and award documentation.
Coordinate and manage external consultants supporting social media and graphic design efforts.
Participate in hiring, training, and development of marketing support staff.
Conduct timely, constructive performance evaluations.
Support personnel management activities in partnership with firm leadership and HR.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
Experience
5–10 years of marketing experience
Background in professional services, architecture/design, or luxury/boutique brands strongly preferred
Technical & Creative Skills
Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign (required)
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Familiarity with Canva and other design platforms
Strong graphic design, layout, and photo selection skills
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading capabilities
Professional Skills
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shift priorities independently
Strong judgment and decision-making abilities under pressure
Professional, collaborative demeanor with internal teams and external partners
High level of integrity, accountability, and ownership of work
Portfolio Requirement
A strong portfolio of design and written work must be submitted with application
Collaborative, in-office role located in the historic Meadows Building at Energy Square
Standard hours: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM CST, Monday–Friday (flexibility provided as business needs require)
Occasional evening, weekend, or local travel may be required
