Role Description

The Project Manager is responsible for evaluating various projects, analyzing data, completing project take-offs, selecting appropriate systems and creating cost estimates/proposals on various projects by utilizing statistical data; such as material price lists, labor costs, and factoring these items into the overall cost of a project.

The PM (Project Manager) will evaluate plans, create a proposal of what TRW will charge to complete a project and submit their bid and follow up with customer on proposal.

If awarded contract for project, the PM will then manage all aspects of the project(s) from inception to conclusion to ensure the project is successfully executed.

  • Reviews construction documents and understands scope of work to bid.
  • Executes take-offs of construction documents.
  • Input take-offs into a computer spreadsheet.
  • Obtains pricing for materials.
  • Obtains bids from subcontractors if applicable.
  • Prepares cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
  • Informs the immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted items or computer database.
  • Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
  • Attends pre-bid or construction meetings as required.
  • Reviews accounting system to determine if a customer has terms.
  • Reviews subcontracts and negotiates prior to requesting a signature.
  • Responsible for ensuring subcontracts meets TRW requirements.
  • Controls time, cost and quality of Projects by planning and coordinating all aspects of the construction process.
  • Schedule field measurements with Field Coordinator to insure accuracy.
  • Order and track materials for project as needed.
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
  • Provide technical and management advice and assistance to General Contractors/Architects/Owners and any other appropriate personnel when needed.
  • Respond to inquiries about projects in a timely manner.
  • Document project phases, project goals and meet deadlines.
  • Accumulate all data, prepare and submit project invoicing to the contractor/owner/end user as required, as well as required complimentary documents such as lien releases, etc.

    No direct supervisory duties, though management of projects includes directing project related activities of the project team members.

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
