The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of commercial construction projects, preparing detailed proposals, and supporting project planning and scheduling activities.
Responsibilities- Prepare accurate and timely cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and subcontractor costs.
- Develop comprehensive bid packages based on project requirements and specifications.
- Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers, obtain quotes, and negotiate pricing to ensure cost-effective project execution.
- Monitor project budgets throughout the construction phase, tracking expenses and providing regular cost reports to project managers and stakeholders.
- Conduct risk analysis and mitigation strategies related to cost factors, ensuring project profitability and compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather project details and ensure accurate estimations.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, contracts, and relevant correspondence.
- Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, and material costs to enhance estimating accuracy and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 5-10 years' experience in commercial construction estimating
- Proficiency in construction estimating software.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
