One Royal Culture Short Story
We have a current opening for a Field Engineer for a project at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). The position will be located at our field office at the project site.
Success in this position is achieved through the following duties & responsibilities:
- Support pre-planning activities, such as material ordering and staging, equipment orders, pre work plans, RFI’s, excavation planning, USA and permits prior to job start up.
- Assist the Foreman/Superintendent with manpower, daily tasks/goals, and project documentation including daily huddles, timecards, equipment inspections, jobsite activities, GC/inspectors conversations, incidents, worksite injury reports, employee warnings and T&M work.
- Understand the project schedule and four-week look ahead schedules, and how they relate to project deliverables and production tracking.
- Assist with jobsite onboarding of new employees ensuring employees are ready to work as soon as possible.
- Coordinate final paycheck for terminations by entering final time in Heavy Job and communicating with HR and Payroll
- Conduct and document jobsite safety orientations for employees and hold daily safety meetings. Uphold safety standards put forth by OSHA and the Royal Safety team.
- Coordinate logistics for the project i.e., material ordering and delivery, tool request, equipment needs, and safety PPE for the crew.
- Maximize productivity of the Foreman/Superintendent by anticipating needs, tracking material and production/quantities, and reviewing job schedules
- Make material runs for items such as supplies, tools, water, etc.
- Work with Foreman on layout and anticipate upcoming challenges or unforeseen conditions.
- Review completed work for any QA/QC issues and communicate with project team for correction.
- Review completed work and prep for final inspections, track and document completed punch list items, provide accurate updates and “As Builds” in Plan Grid, and coordinate jobsite clean ups.
- Facilitate project closeout including scheduling final inspections to ensure a quick and coordinated departure from the project.
- Promote a safe and efficient work environment as well as maintain friendly work relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and other trades on the job to ensure productivity and success.
- High School or GED required.
- 1+ years of construction experience preferred.
- Production tracking experience is a plus.
- Understand the construction process in the field.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Plan Grid
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills internally and externally.
- Ability to prioritize, complete tasks, and address issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to work with a team and independently.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be detail-orientated and well organized.
