An established development team is seeking a Multifamily Construction Purchasing Manager to lead procurement efforts for amenity-focused construction projects within residential and mixed-use communities. This role plays a key part in aligning sourcing strategies with project schedules, budgets, and design standards across a range of shared-use and lifestyle-driven spaces.
The right candidate brings a strong understanding of construction purchasing and vendor management, with the ability to navigate complex scopes, changing timelines, and quality expectations while collaborating across multiple internal teams.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee purchasing activities from pre-construction through closeout for projects
- Partner with internal teams to align procurement strategies with design intent, specifications, and budgets
- Source, evaluate, and manage vendors and subcontractors experienced in hospitality-grade and commercial construction
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery schedules to support project timelines
- Manage purchase orders, change orders, and procurement tracking
- Monitor market conditions, material lead times, and supply risks
- Track costs and forecasts, providing clear visibility to leadership
- Support value engineering efforts while maintaining quality standards
- Coordinate closely with construction managers and on-site teams
- 3+ years of commercial or multifamily construction purchasing experience
- Strong knowledge of multifamily construction materials, FF&E, MEP systems, and trades
- Ability to read and interpret civil, architectural, and landscape plans
- Experience managing budgets, vendors, and contract negotiations
- Familiarity with construction management software
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, supply chain, business, or related field preferred
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting large-scale or master-planned communities
- Working knowledge of ADA, IBC, and commercial building codes
- Established vendor and contractor relationships within the amenity or hospitality construction space
