Reports To: Project Manager / Construction Manager
Position SummaryThe Data Center Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities for large-scale data center projects in the Dallas–Fort Worth region. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all quality, design, and regulatory requirements. The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader, coordinating subcontractors, inspections, logistics, and daily field operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day field operations for data center construction projects, including site logistics, sequencing, and manpower planning
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors across all trades (civil, structural, MEP, electrical, low-voltage, commissioning support)
- Enforce project schedules and look-ahead planning (3-week and 6-week schedules)
- Ensure strict adherence to safety programs, OSHA standards, and site-specific safety plans
- Conduct daily site walks, safety meetings, and toolbox talks
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements
- Review construction documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Owners, Engineers, and Inspectors
- Track progress and report daily/weekly status updates
- Manage quality control, punch lists, and closeout activities
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize delays and rework
- Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, and site documentation
- 8+ years of construction experience, with direct experience on data center, mission-critical, or industrial projects
- 3+ years in a Superintendent or Lead Superintendent role, experience would be preferential from mission critical build with General Contractors.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, especially electrical and mechanical systems critical to data centers
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with construction scheduling and reporting tools (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.)
- OSHA 30 certification (required or ability to obtain)
- Experience with hyperscale or colocation data center projects
- Familiarity with commissioning processes and turnover requirements
- Experience working in the DFW construction market
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Ability to work full-time on-site
- Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and work in active construction environments
- Occasional extended hours or weekends as project schedules require
