Sustainable Design Advisor I
A Sustainable Design Advisor I is responsible for providing sustainability assessment of a wide range of project opportunities that may relate to water, energy, and carbon analysis; material health research; and trends on occupant health and well‑being. This advisor supports project teams in the delivery of third‑party rating systems such as LEED, Living Building Challenge, and Passive House.
Responsibilities- Collaborates and liaises with architectural, interiors, and urban design project teams in undertaking targeted sustainable building performance calculations and product research.
- Supports project managers on a variety of projects including LEED, Living Building Challenge, and Passive House coordination and documentation, and green building strategies.
- Conducts green product research to verify the transparency and health claims made by product manufacturers.
- Analyzes data and interprets trends and statistics as required to support project deliverables. li>Prepares technical content for sustainable design presentations, reports, and other client deliverables.
- Supports sustainable design education program and LEED AP credential maintenance program.
- Responsible for tracking and reporting on trends, programs, and policies within service sectors.
- Familiarity with LEED Green Building Rating Systems (LEED v4) is required; experience with Living Building Challenge, Passive House, WELL, Fitwel, and other sustainable design performance tools is beneficial.
- Familiarity with project specifications, architectural drawings, and building construction.
- Ability to think critically and strategically and to conduct self‑directed research and analysis with limited supervision.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign; familiarity with Revit is desirable.
- A degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field to sustainable building design.
- At a minimum, attain LEED Green Associate or Living Future Accreditation within 6 months of hiring. If the LEED track is chosen, LEED with Specialty Accreditation must be attained within 12 months of hiring.
