Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified Area Construction Manager to oversee and manage multiple superintendents in our Dallas East Division. This position will be responsible for managing construction staff in multiple subdivisions, supervising and training construction field personnel, managing sub‑contractor relationships, handling customer escalations, and ensuring homes are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a proficient and highly motivated professional construction staff.
  • Inform and train sub‑contractors on company policies and procedures, including safety and OSHA compliance.
  • Provide technical directions to field employees.
  • Supervise start‑up and delivery of sufficient houses to meet division plan.
  • Plan and coordinate starts to avoid start‑up delays.
  • Oversee all scheduling and construction‑related activities on residential housing projects.
  • Create and monitor budgets.
  • Oversee contractual agreements, ensuring product quality, schedule adherence, and effective jobsite supervision, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Implement company policies, procedures, and principles and complete required paperwork.
  • Monitor and resolve all sub‑contractor and customer‑related problems as they arise.
  • Mitigate, arbitrate or negotiate any subcontractor problems impacting field operations.
  • Ensure adequate subcontractor staffing to manage construction scheduling.
  • Develop relationships with county inspectors and agencies to promote a positive company image.
Requirements
  • Construction Management Degree and equivalent experience.
  • 6 years progressive experience in construction management, preferably in production homebuilding.
  • Effective communicator with demonstrated leadership skills in managing people.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft applications.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
