Job SummaryThe Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans and specifications, evaluating labor, materials, and equipment costs, and collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely and precise estimates. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of construction processes and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Develop material, labor, and equipment take‑offs for construction projects.
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive estimates and proposals to clients.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and scope.
- Maintain and update cost databases for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Track and analyze historical project costs to improve estimating accuracy.
- Participate in pre‑bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary project information.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and project budgets as needed.
- Proven experience as a construction estimator or in a similar role specifically with restaurants.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Plan Swift, Pro Est) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
