Job Summary
The ideal Senior Superintendent candidate will have at least 8 years of relevant General Contractor experience. If your experience is less than that a Superintendent position is also available. Regardless of which we consider you for, you need to have experience in one of the following types of projects:
- Corporate interior finish‑out projects
- Showrooms
- Two‑story or less ground‑up construction projects
- Aviation work of any kind (especially DFW Airport)
- Restaurants / Airport concessions
For examples of the types of projects we build see our website (). While most of our projects are in the DFW Area we also have some projects in 2026 that will be in Canton, Texas (ground‑up bank) as well as Austin (bank interiors).
Senior Superintendents should have demonstrated the ability to handle projects between $3 million and $10 million successfully with references and lead a team. Superintendents should be able to handle projects in the range of $250,000 to $3 million.
This individual should be familiar with the role of the onsite Senior Superintendent (or Superintendent). You could be assigned to one project you will manage or you could be assigned to work on a larger team. A typical project would require you to be onsite M‑F from 7 am to 4 pm to coordinate the trades, but it could be longer and, depending on the needs of the job, an occasional weekend or after‑hours work may be needed.
This individual should understand how to read construction drawings, be a good communicator, and demonstrate the ability to create schedules & meet contractual deadlines. This role is customer‑facing and we expect our Superintendents to help us win work and retain our clients for future opportunities.
- Manage construction projects in the field from start to finish
- Create and help maintain schedules (preferably in MS Project or P3)
- Maintain an organized, clean, & safe job site
- Conduct subcontractor coordination meetings and represent JRT weekly in owner meetings
- Adhere to the project budget and work with the PM to save money & schedule time
- Problem solving, conflict resolution, and leadership qualities are essential
- High School Diploma / College Degree Preferred but not mandatory
- Microsoft Project / Blue Beam experience preferred or the ability to learn these programs quickly
