Geotechnical Construction Field Engineer
Overview
We are seeking a Geotechnical Construction Field Engineer to support project execution in the field and ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with plans and specifications. This is a project- and field-based role that requires travel and works closely with Operations and Project Managers and is critical to overall project success.
Responsibilities
- Support field operations and project teams to keep projects on schedule
- Assist crews with interpretation of drawings, specifications, and job requirements
- Perform on-site QA/QC, including testing and sampling
- Participate in site investigations, project start-up, updates, and closeout meetings
- Assist Project Managers with scheduling, material planning, staffing, and subcontractor coordination
- Prepare and organize RFIs, submittals, change documentation, and invoicing
- Inventory, procure, organize, and maintain materials and tooling
- Assist with pricing and evaluation of potential change orders
- Support estimating efforts including plan takeoffs, spec reviews, cost gathering, and proposal preparation
- Research plans for new bidding opportunities and assist with historical cost data and project archiving
- Travel extensively and work on jobsites throughout the United States
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent field experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively
