Form Setter Lead
Position Summary
:
This position is accountable for directing activities of workers concerned with building and setting forms made of wood, metal, vinyl, and other materials in accordance with customer specifications (plans). The incumbent must have the ability and flexibility to work varying shifts and long hours (8‑12 hours), including weekends and extra hours as required by production needs.
Responsibilities
:
- Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction based on starting and completion times for specific phases of construction.
- Assembles members of a crew at the start of a project.
- Collaborates with supervisor on orders for procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules.
- Confers with and assists the superintendent in supervising personnel engaged in executing work procedures.
- Interprets plans and specifications and coordinates various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Confers with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.
- Confers with supervisors, engineers, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
- Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adheres to construction schedules.
- Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated.
- Directs workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations.
- Maintains equipment and tools to ensure long‑lasting use.
- Maintains confidentiality by not disclosing proprietary or trade secret information to others.
- Responsible and accountable for the entrant’s own personal safety.
- Responsible and accountable for the safety of all co‑workers and any others the incumbent comes in contact with.
- Authorized and obligated to stop work on any task whenever an unsafe condition is anticipated or observed.
- Complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies; reports any violations promptly.
- Performs other related administrative and technical duties as assigned by immediate supervision (e.g., certification training, safety training, procedure review).
Position Requirements
:
- A minimum of three years of experience finishing concrete structures and pier foundations, setting steel pre‑formed forming systems, and pouring concrete.
- Experience directing others within a small work unit executing work procedures.
- Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Basic computer literacy is needed.
- Ability to work in constant change in weather and site conditions.
- Ability to lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and perform similar physical activities as needed.
Physical/Mental Requirements
:
The incumbent must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation, wear and properly use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), remain calm during emergencies, and evacuate the work area in a timely manner if necessary.
Location & Compensation
:
Dallas‑Fort Worth Metroplex – $90,000.00 – $ per annum.
