Childcare Attendant

Position: Child Care Attendant

Reports To: Director of Membership & Communications

Education and/or Experience

• At least two years of work experience as a child care provider in a pre-school, before-and-after school setting or babysitting/nannying position.

Job Summary

Responsible for supervising and ensuring the safety of children in Kidz Klub. Duties include watching over children, engaging them in fun activities, assisting with snacks and maintaining a clean play area. You will also communicate with parents about their child's needs and behavior. This role requires patience, kindness and a love for working with kids.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

• Maintain the reservation system and ensure that each child has a registration form submitted prior to reservation time.
• Assist in stimulating and age-appropriate games and activities.
• Help teach children to share toys and to work in groups.
• Provide a comfortable, safe and non-threatening environment for children.
• Preparing and serving snacks.
• Plan music as well as arts and crafts activities.
• Requires being alert to and anticipating situations that would compromise the children’s physical or emotional well-being.
• Work major children’s holiday events and Club events including but not limited to Photos with the Easter Bunny and Egg Hunt, Fourth of July, Photos with Santa and Parents Night Out.
• Maintain a safe and clean facility. Assist children in cleaning up toys and craft supplies.
• Knowledge of an ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
• Completes other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Director of Membership & Communications.

Licenses and Special Requirements

• Basic CPR, First Aid and AED Certification

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Requires constant standing, walking, bending over, stooping and lifting to tend to the children’s needs and provide a clean environment.
• Setting may be noisy and cluttered at times.
