SC Category Manager

A leading energy company is undergoing a strategic transformation of its supply chain organization and is seeking a Senior Category Manager to help champion a newly established Category Management function. This is a high-impact role for a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about driving innovation, supplier performance, and strategic sourcing excellence.

The ideal candidate will be a trailblazer - energized by the opportunity to shape a new function and influence enterprise-wide procurement strategy.

• Develop and lead enterprise-wide category strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
• Drive strategic sourcing initiatives including RFPs/RFQs to optimize value and supplier performance.
• Build and manage supplier relationships, ensuring excellence through evaluation, negotiation, and continuous improvement.
• Lead complex contract development and pricing strategies to support long-term goals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
• Analyze macroeconomic factors and develop actionable supply chain strategies & forecasts.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (required).
• 6-10 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, or engineering.
• Strong technical and procurement background in construction services categories preferred
• High energy, innovative mindset, and ability to be a difference maker in a newly forming category management function.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Advanced proficiency in procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data analysis tools.
• Must be a collaborative problem solver - able to influence without being overly aggressive.
