Description

Corporate Development Manager Drive the Future of Blue Cardinal Operations

Are you a high-performing M&A professional who thrives on the art of the deal? At Blue Cardinal Operations, we are aggressively pursuing strategic growth through the acquisition of premium plumbing and HVAC companies. We require a Corporate Development Manager with the analytical rigor and strategic mindset to influence our growth trajectory.

As a key member of a highly visible transaction team, you will lead critical activities across the full deal lifecycle. This is a high-impact role for a sharp, self-starting professional ready to help us dominate the home services sector.

The Role:

Turning Chaos into Clarity

Blue Cardinal is scaling rapidly. This position is designed for an individual who excels in a fast-paced roll-up environment. You will frequently navigate disorganized or "messy" seller data from privately held businesses, refining the analytical frameworks used to evaluate and underwrite these opportunities. You will serve as the lead evaluator in determining strategic fit and financial viability.

Key Responsibilities M&A Strategy & Execution
  • Support day-to-day activities across all phases of the deal lifecycle, ensuring consistent project execution and communication to stakeholders.
  • Refine and execute the analytical frameworks used to analyze and underwrite deals and other strategic growth opportunities.
  • Conduct initial assessments of potential acquisition targets based on strategic fit, financial attractiveness, synergies, and risk factors.
  • Manage a comprehensive corporate acquisition pipeline and support target identification efforts.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor movements, and capital markets to inform the company’s M&A strategy.
Financial Analysis & Modeling
  • Utilize business, finance, and accounting skills to perform quality of earnings reviews, financial statement assessments, and trend benchmarking.
  • Build detailed financial models, forecasts, and integrated revenue/expense analyses to project the organizational impact of a transaction.
  • Compile and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data required for mergers and acquisitions. Assist in identifying issues for purchase price adjustments and offer deal structuring insights based on business plan assessments.
Collaboration & Deliverables
  • Lead the preparation of reports, written analyses, presentations, and other deliverables for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identify trends in competitive environments and assist with related project management activities.
  • Collaborate with the Blue Cardinal Support Team to achieve engagement objectives in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, quality, and integrity in all interactions.
Requirements Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years of work experience, ideally in M&A or Corporate Development. Experience with roll-up or multi-acquisition strategies is highly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling), Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with technical/GAAP accounting is a plus.
  • Analytical Ability: Proven ability to manage large datasets and interpret both qualitative and quantitative results to develop actionable insights.
  • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills with a mature presence and the ability to interact with senior leadership.
  • Operational Agility: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize changing work demands, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: CFA, CPA, or equivalent certifications are considered an asset.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
Benefits
  • Competitive compensation structure, including performance incentives.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
  • Paid time off and observed holidays.
  • Significant career growth opportunities within a rapidly scaling organization.
