Overview
Business Development Manager - Trademark and Advertising at Haynes and Boone, LLP. This exempt position provides strategic and tactical business development support for the group(s) and/or office(s) assigned.
Responsibilities- Help develop and execute group marketing/business development strategies, plans and projects.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and targets, facilitate cross-selling, participate on client-specific target teams, maintain sales pipeline, and support deal/case tracking.
- Support all group RFP/RFI/Proposal/Pitch opportunities.
- Support all awards and ranking submissions for the practice.
- Collaborate with Public Relations to secure media exposure for the group, leading attorneys, and accomplishments.
- Ensure group business development and marketing initiatives are executed at local, regional and national levels.
- Coordinate and manage group events, sponsor ships, advertisements, speaking engagements, etc., with the firm’s Events Specialists.
- Develop and manage the group business development and marketing budget(s).
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Reporting relationshipThe Business Development Manager reports directly to the Senior Manager of Business Development. Subordinate staff:
None.
Knowledge/
Experience:
At least 7 years marketing, promotion, or related experience required. Law firm or professional services experience preferred. Strong computer proficiency with Inter Action, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and a variety of leading edge competitive and business intelligence tools. An insatiable intellectual curiosity and a desire to become completely immersed in the business of the group(s) assigned to the individual.
Skills:
Strong writing, proofreading and verbal communication; flexible and organized with the ability to deal with many different personalities, multiple demands, and the pressure of meeting deadlines. Strong work ethic and client service mindset; ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment; sense of urgency and attention to detail.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business.
Remains stationary at least 75% of the time. When coordinating/attending events, may move up to 100% of the time. Operates computers and office equipment. May move up to 15 lbs. Requires constant communication with attorneys, vendors, clients and staff. Must be able to view information on a computer screen approximately 80% of the time.
Working ConditionsOffice environment. May require more than 40 hours per week. Travel may be required.
