Schedule:

Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, which allows for a minimum of 3 in-office days (Tuesday to Thursday) and 2 remote days (Monday and Friday). Any changes to this working model will be communicated accordingly.

What you will be doing:
  • Draft, review, edit, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements (e.g., MSAs, supplier agreements, distribution agreements, NDAs and marketing agreements).
  • Advise on contract risk allocation (indemnities, limitations of liability, IP ownership, confidentiality, data privacy/security, termination).
  • Provide practical, business-oriented advice on legal issues impacting operations (e.g., advertising/marketing law, consumer protection, product labeling, safety standards, environmental claims).
  • Assist with corporate governance, entity and strategic transactional matters.
  • Be proactive in identifying risks or potential risks.
  • Partner with Regulatory on monitoring and implementing changes in applicable laws and industry standards.
  • Review product packaging, labeling, and marketing claims for legal compliance and risk mitigation; ensure claim substantiation and appropriate disclaimers.
  • Counsel on digital marketing, social media, endorsements/influencer content, promotions/sweepstakes, comparative advertising, and “green”/sustainability claims.
  • Demonstrate efficiency and effectiveness in building relationships with business units and shared services.
  • Remain up to date on relevant current and evolving legal trends impacting our business and company.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
  • 4+ Years with in-house or law firm experience.
  • Active law license in the state of Texas.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Corporate or transactional experience.
  • Spanish language (read/write/speak).
