Responsibilities
- Perform work outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnose vehicle problems based on customer complaints and inspections.
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Save and tag parts for warranty or customer requests.
- Examine vehicles for safety or service work needed or recommended.
- Communicate additional work needed or delays to the service advisor.
- Document all work on the repair order.
- Road test vehicles.
- Participate in manufacturer training programs and stay updated on technical bulletins.
- Inspect and test drive newly delivered vehicles for damage or missing components.
- Install optional equipment as specified.
- Report machinery defects or malfunctions.
- Keep vehicles clean and notify the service advisor of any issues affecting appearance or condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop area.
- Manage dealership tools and manuals responsibly.
- Comply with safety and environmental regulations.
- Operate tools safely and report safety issues.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience as an auto technician.
- Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance.
- Fast learner, team player, with excellent communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Proficiency with electronic diagnostic equipment and computer skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- ASE certification preferred.
- Willing to undergo background check and drug screening.
