Position: Assistant to the Dean-Gary Cook School of Leadership
General Objectives
The Assistant to the Dean in the Gary Cook School of Leadership (CSL) is responsible for assisting the Dean of the CSL in coordinating and implementing school programs and services, as well as helping to promote the mission and activities of the CSL to alumni, donors, prospects, and others.

Assist the Dean with various scheduling, correspondence, filing, and other office-related itemsHelp to coordinate the travel and speaking schedule of the DeanHelp to coordinate logistics and execution of CSL eventsMaintain CSL Office Policy and Procedure ManualMaintain CSL timeline and calendarsMaintain recruiting materials and office suppliesAttend staff meetings, take notes, follow up as needed, and distribute information to staffProvide secretarial and managerial assistance in managing the departmental workflowOversee office organization and filing system. Manage hardcopy and electronic recordsBe responsible for coordinating appointments, timelines, calendar dates, and classroom reservations for the CSLAssist with planning and preparation for meetings, training, presentations, travel, and other eventsAssist with coordinating arrangements and preparation of teaching materials as assigned; maintain course schedules, syllabi, bibliographies and textbook orders for degree programsMaintain personnel files and information; compile instructor evaluations and maintain Professor Evaluation Files for referenceHelp with processing and orienting full-time and part-time faculty and staffProvide information in a timely manner, as needed, to the various administrative offices on campus using the appropriate procedures and formsEnter and maintain class schedule in template; maintain updated degree plans and course info in share/Leadership folderAssist with Doctoral Enrollment as necessaryAssist with Graduate Enrollment as necessaryAssist with advising and registration of students as neededAssist with Institute for Global Engagement events as necessaryAssist with Center for Global Religious Freedom events as necessaryBudget Responsibilities
Oversee the CSL budget and make independent decisions regarding the CSL budget in consultation with the DeanCreate Requisition s and process invoices as the division is billedEnsure CSL is staying within the budget perimetersManagement Responsibilities
Assist in the management of student workers within the CSLMake independent decisions regarding scheduling of classrooms and meeting roomsMake independent decisions regarding marketing production in consultation with the DeanManage phone system and correspondence; process phone calls, faxes, emails, and mailingsSupervise, train, and coordinate student worker's and schedule work assignmentsMaintain copy machine, fax machine, and printers (ordering paper and supplies, clearing jams, reporting monthly department readings)Maintain maintenance and servicing of the office equipmentVarious responsibilities as assigned by the supervisorCoordinate all onboard and hiring of student workersMarketing Responsibilities
Maintain the CSL WebsiteHelp with the promotion of CSL events as directedAssist in the management and distribution of all CSL email correspondenceAssist in the management and distribution of the CSL annual magazineAssist in the management and distribution of the CSL JournalAssist in the management and distribution of any other CSL-related contentWork Schedule
This is a full-time position with regular office hours between 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Work Location
This position will work on the main campus, located at 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
Must be a Christian and a member of a church that holds to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing in the New and Old Testaments of the Holy Bible.
