Base pay range$70,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr
Summary of Position- This position builds and maintains trust among orchestra musicians and administrative staff, serves as a liaison between musicians and management, and fulfills the duties of the Director of Orchestra Personnel in their absence.
- Works with the Director of Orchestra Personnel in administering the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with respect to all services, including start and end times, breaks, attendance, seating, musicians’ needs, and official communication.
- Maintains personnel records, including contact information, contracts, rosters, attendance records, and confidential information.
- Engages substitute and extra musicians as needed. In collaboration with People & Culture, distributes and collects new hire forms.
- Along with the Director of Orchestra Personnel, distributes information on weekly schedule, rosters, etc. to Musicians and staff.
- In collaboration with the Director of Orchestra Personnel and Auditions Coordinator, assists in the coordination and execution of all auditions.
- Assists in tracking and processing electronic media activity.
- Assists in preparation of Orchestra payroll.
- Manages mailbox and locker assignments, processes check requests and reimbursements, and composes memos and documents.
- Along with the Director of Orchestra Personnel, maintains wind, brass, and percussion castings sheets.
- Assists in securing orchestra personnel for various receptions, donor events, community engagement, or other activity to advance the DSO’s impact on the community.
- Minimum three to five years of experience in orchestra management, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate calmly and effectively in both routine and high-pressure situations.
- Personal integrity and strict code of confidentiality and professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and interruptive environment.
- Ability to implement projects from conception to completion with minimal supervision.
- Computer proficiency includes the ability to learn and utilize new software applications.
- Strong proficiency in Excel. Knowledge of OPAS preferred.
